What do officers do?

  • President
    • Develop an agenda for every meeting
    • Direct chapter meetings
    • Keep meetings organized
    • Work cooperatively with other officers, members, and committees
    • Know the duties of the rest of the officers and committes and delegate accordingly
    • Start meetings on time
    • Represent the chapter in a responsible and professional manner
    • Attend all meetings and state conference
    • Keep up-to-date on local, state, and national updates
  • Vice President
    • Assume the president's responsibilities in the president's absence
    • Assist the president as needed
    • Help keep meetings organized
    • Work with other officers and committes to carry out projects and responsibilities
  • Secretary
    • Keep accurate meeting minutes
    • Send meeting minutes to the president and advisor after each meeting
    • Keep attendance records
    • Remind officers of unfinished business
    • Count and record chapter votes
  • Treasurer
    • Keep accurate financial records
    • Prepare a treasurer's report for each business meeting
    • Assist in collecting dues and any other transactions
    • Write receipts
    • Work with fundraising
  • Reporter
    • Notify newspaper about upcoming projects
    • Prepare news articles for publication
    • Supply news articles to the state newsletter
  • Chapter Events & Outreach Chair
    • Coordinate outreach programs and programs within our school district.
